England update: Jarell Quansah withdrawn
Jarell Quansah will sit out England's FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Latvia due to a physical issue and the player – who did not participate in the national team's three-nil friendly win over Wales at Wembley – will return to his club the Bundesliga club.
The former Liverpool defender has been a mainstay in the team's backline this campaign but England said no additional squad replacements were scheduled for the qualification match in the Latvian capital on Tuesday.
England could secure a spot for next year's FIFA World Cup with two games to spare if they beat their opponents on this Tuesday and results elsewhere in Group K go their way.
Introduction
This is do or die for the Irish team, though their opportunities of making it to the World Cup may already seem dead. A well-known face in the Portuguese star greets them, and Portugal are top of their group. At the venue, Ireland face a massive task.
Another key match will be European champion the Spanish national team, who have won all their matches so far in their group, against Georgia, who have never earned a place for a finals and are targeting for the playoffs. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been a question and Liverpool supporters will get a chance to see the Georgian goalkeeper.
